Hi, my name is Sofia Barbieri and I am an undergraduate student at Boston College. I was born in Verona, Italy and lived there for all my life before participating in a year long exchange program in the US when I was 16 years old. Upon returning from that amazing experience, I decided to come back to the US to achieve higher education, therefore after graduating from High School in Verona, I moved to Boston.

I am very involved at BC and one of the extracurricular activities I enjoy the most is writing for The Heights newspaper. The other thing I'm really passionate about is learning and teaching foreign languages. I am an Italian and German Tutor at The Connors Family Learning Center, a place where academic excellence is strongly encouraged.

Traveling and Diversity are my greatest passions because I believe there is nothing more important than learning cultures and traditions through experience first hand. Traveling gave me the push to learn languages like English, German, Spanish and French and led me to always appreciate the differences between cultures. My goal in life is to convey this richness and make sure everybody understands how to respect others regardless of background, color and ethnicity.
